Te Kamo High School

Te Kamo High School

Client: Canam Construction

Culham Engineering was selected for the Te Kamo High School development, which includes new classrooms, a Blomfield special school unit, and a whare; a significant expansion for a growing region.

Our scope covered the supply and installation of all structural steelwork, as well as the installation of ComFlor across multiple phases.

The project presented unique challenges due to the precast concrete walls being erected prior to our steel installation. This required precise placement of steelwork, most notably the 21m x 5.5m roof rafter frames, within the existing structure, leaving minimal tolerance for error. To address this, we assembled the large rafter frames in sections on site and welded them in situ. Through careful route planning and fabrication considerations, we were able to deliver complete frames to site as single-piece units, significantly reducing construction time.

Our scope later expanded to include the supply and installation of ComFlor, which we fully managed in collaboration with subcontractors.
